Lilly looked furious as I walked into the house. I have to admit that it was all a bit much, but the one thing I learned was, if I was going to beat Jack at his own game, I had to play by his rules, and part of that was pretending to be living the high life as a human.
The first part of our plan has been finalized. Now … Lilly had to ensure that everything went off without a hitch. Thankfully, the arrangements for the ball would keep her busy enough to distract her from what would be going on behind the scenes.
Lilly was incredible at scheming, but since she had a past with Jack, we kept her slightly out of the loop of the entire plan. Only Orin and I knew. Since he realized she didn’t love him, I was confident that I could trust him and he wouldn’t tell her.
