I had to find the entrance to the tomb, and I was literally on borrowed time. Lilly could come back at any moment. Since they closed the secret passage, I was out in the open and could get caught by any of the demons wandering around the castle. Thankfully, since I spent so many years as a slave in the castle, I knew where it wouldn’t be.
Closing my eyes, I breathed in and focussed on the hourglass in my hands. Almost instantly, I could feel the magic from the tomb pull at the hourglass and I didn’t hesitate. It was eerie moving through the passages. The castle was almost dead quiet. Guards weren’t patrolling every passage like they used to. I could feel the power grow stronger as I moved.
