“Should we report this to the Duke?” Marianne whispered, looking at Roman.
The man paused, looking at the Duchess. Roseanne was seated by the side of the window, her eyes cast outside with a deep thought lingering around her. After the whole discussion about the late consort, she had been quiet and almost not functioning.
It was the first time she seemed bothered, which effectively made her staff panic.
Marianne had watched over the Duchess, and she was slightly getting worried. As the one closest to the Duchess, Marianne had been made aware of everything—so it was troubling to see that Roseanne was clearly affected by everything.
“I will talk to the Duke,” Roman informed her, slowly walking out of the room.
