How to ease one’s mind.

Alistair noticed something from his mother.
She was always tending to his needs, and would often only agree to head to a destination if he wanted to come. While he had no complaints hearing that, he knew that he had to make some sacrifices. Many nobles are now planning to linger near his mother. It would still be brave of them to do so, but he still often thinks about that one noble who was comfortable with his mother.
“Young Lord,” Cliff called, kneeling before the man. “Is there something distressing you? Should I call the maid?”
Alistair shook his head. “Cliff, how could I make this day only for my parents?”
“I beg your pardon?”
“This is the one time that Father could capture her attention. I shouldn’t be there.”
