Chapter 12: The Cabin

He drove quickly back in the direction of the warehouse as the snow started to pick up a bit more. A small part of me was worried that he was going to drop me back off, but when we passed the warehouse and started deeper up the mountain, I relaxed some. I started watching as tall pine trees passed by the window of the truck and I just couldn’t do anything but stare. I don’t know how long we drove for, but the ride was silent and warm. I felt my eyes start to drift close as he started to drive the car easily down the dark highways to the destination he called the cabin. I know once I get there, I will have to find another way to escape, but for now, I need my rest. My stomach rumbled with hunger before I fell asleep in the car and I couldn’t help but curl into my body from some slight pain
