Not thinking, I rush out of the office. Seeing Hazel just bolt after whispering, "I need a minute," just about crushed me. I was already feeling cracked open after telling everyone my secret that I have been keeping for 3 years… but to see Hazel literally need to run away from everything… Goddess.
I don't make it that far when I exit through the pack houses' backdoors. My back gets slammed against the wall. Hissing out in pain, a hand comes around my throat. I don't even have to look to see if it is my mate. Staring into his glowing red eyes almost makes me break out into a sob. Almost. But I cannot. I need to be strong to go after my sister. She is the one that is important right now.
