I woke up at 4:pm and prepared to leave. Since I forced the Lycan warriors to return to Crescent Moon, I didn't want Kaelan to worry.
Evan stayed close to me, as if afraid I would disappear if he looked away. But I knew I had to leave him eventually.
Evan stood by the door as I strapped my bag over my shoulders. "I want to go with you," he said.
I paused, glancing at him. "It’s not that simple, Evan."
"Why not?" He frowned. "I thought you said you wanted us to figure things out together."
I sighed. "We will. But I'm mated to the Alpha King and he needs to be informed about this whole matter before I can bring you along."
“You're a Luna?” Evan looked awed.
I smiled radiantly. “Yes I am. It's only been a few months since I was crowned.”
