CHAPTER EIGHT

ALPHA KEENAN ARES

After Kayla caught me red-handed banging that bimbo on her bed, she was extremely mad at me, I would have been mad too if something of the sort happened to me, I mean she was already used to me f*****g around but I overstepped but that was not the point, it was my house and I was allowed to do whatever I wanted to do with it.

I stormed out of the house angrily, there was no point in me getting mad or anything but that was my alter ego, I had to show her that I was the alpha and I made the rules, I was also allowed to break them and that day I was guilty as charged.

I didn’t have anywhere in mind to go to, so I called one of the omega slaves Kayla had caught me with, maybe finishing what we started was the best option for me at the moment.

She was still at the party so it was easy to locate her, I texted her to meet me in my car which was less revealing, I didn’t want people seeing me with the omegas roaming around while I was married and I was supposed to be a good leader to everyone else at the pack.

“I am guessing your wife didn’t follow you here, I don’t want problems with your wife, I will be shunned out of this pack forever, you know whatever we are doing is illegal and punishable by death.” She said as soon as she was settled at the back of the car, that was the only safe way to drive out before anyone noticed we were not at the party.

“You should leave that to me, I am the alpha and I make the rules, we are only doing this because I don’t want people to start asking questions, and don’t worry, no one will harm you while I am here with you, I just want us to finish what we started and maybe spend the night together, so buckle up and get ready for the ride, I have a house just outside town and we can spend the night there without anyone noticing anything and far from anyone disturbing us,” I said and she nodded, I started the car and drove at a moderate speed to my house which was out of town.

We ended up spending the whole night together, to say she was freaky and nasty the whole night was an understatement, she gave me the best night of my life, more than what I needed for the night.

In the morning, I was meeting some of my friends for a plan we had underway, I dropped her at a far distance from her place, I called them just to be sure of our meeting place, but they told me they were caught up, so the meeting was pushed to evening.

I also got a call from Ashford, he said he had something important to discuss with me so I dropped by his club, there weren’t a lot of people since it was just 3 o’clock.

“Man, I came here as soon as I got your call. I hope everything is okay, hey get me a glass of something strong, my mind is lagging and I need something really strong.” I told the bartender.

“Your wife, have you seen her?” he asked and I shook my head dismally, “why are you asking me that? I’m her bodyguard now?”

“And here I thought you cared about your wife; did you even love her? Is there some little love you still have for her?” he asked and I chuckled.

“No, you got it all wrong, love is overrated. Of course, I care about her but that doesn’t mean I should be keeping my eye on everything she does. Wait, why are you even asking me that, is there something you know that I don’t?” I asked curiously as I chugged down my drink.

“Yes, she slept over at my place, after pouring her heart out to me while drunk, you are not being fair to her man, why don’t you just divorce her and let her be free man, I didn’t like the state she was in yesterday, she is my friend and so are you, I am just being honest with you.” He added and I chuckled.

Ashford was my friend and he was in line to be the next alpha of Moon Stone Pack but one thing I didn’t like about him was the fact he was sluggish and brittle, he was not as strong as I thought my friends would be, I was just keeping him because we had been childhood friends and you don’t just cut out your friends.

“Ha-ha my friend Ashford, you are dumb. What did she tell you that made you have a change of heart? I have known you for a long time, but I didn’t expect you to show you mercy to a woman, women are snakes and nothing they tell me will ever change my thoughts on them.” I said unbothered but then one thing caught my attention, why would she even sleep at his place in the first place, did they f**k?

“Why did she come to your place in the first place, did you f**k her?” I asked. Jealousy was getting the best of me, it is not like I cared who f****d her but I didn’t like the fact that she was now competing with me.

“In as much as I like Kayla, I would never stoop that low and f**k my best friend’s wife, I like her a lot, it took me every ounce of patience not to kiss her pouty pink lips but I held back because I knew that was not my territory but yours.” He said and I nodded, I knew he was right but no way I was letting him win.

“I am glad you didn’t f**k her because if you did, I would have punched you hard, despite all I am doing, she is a wife by law and my wife by destiny, I hope you remember that every time you think of banging my wife behind my back,” I said with finality and he shrugged.

“I would never do that to you but as soon as you leave her, I am getting her to myself and you will have learned how to treat a woman from me, unfortunately.” He said and I shrugged.

We spoke for a few more minutes before I excused myself to leave, I had received a call from my mom, she wanted to discuss something important so, I had to leave.

“I will see you around and the next time my wife comes to you for help, don’t let her drink herself silly, she will say things she is not supposed to say and I don’t like my secrets poured out for every Tom, d**k, and Harry to hear,” I said as I picked up my coat and gently slapped his back.

“Dully noted Alpha Keenan but the next time, you want to f**k your whores, please mind your environment, everyone will soon find out what kind of a leader you are and I am sure no one will want to associate themselves with you again, don’t show Kayla that you are a w***e, trying to prove a point to a woman who has seen all of you is useless and stupid, man up, I am saying this to you as a friend and I hope you take personally.” He said and I shook my head severally, I knew he was right but what he said bruised my ego.

“I will forgive you for now because I have to meet my mom and because you are my friend but please don’t say that to me ever again, I might just punch you,” I said before I walked out.

Throughout the drive to my mom’s, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Ashford had said to me, a part of me knew he was right but I didn’t want to admit it, I was the villain in Kayla’s story and I kept frustrating her every other day, but that is just who I am. I get pleasure from people’s pain.

And the meeting with my mom was about the same thing, I didn’t know if the world had just decided to turn against me and I guess maybe that was a calling for me to stop mistreating her.

“I have gotten so many complaints from your wife and you know she just can’t keep complaining about the same thing over and over again, did you have to sleep with that w***e on the bed she sleeps in? She left the room for you and you still dared to sleep in her bed with another woman?” my mom asked pissed.

“Mom, who keeps telling you these rumors? Did she talk to you about this?” I curiously asked.

“No, I have my eyes everywhere and honestly I am disappointed in you, I was taking your side before but this has escalated and I can’t support your actions anymore, what you are doing is not right and I want you to stop it.” She said with finality but I was not going to let my mom detect what I did.

“Mom, thank you for the coffee and the invite but I can’t believe you called me all this just to talk about Kayla, I don’t know why everyone is so much into her business when she is not even complaining.”

“The fact that a few people have told you the same thing, means that very soon the whole pack will know and you wouldn’t want that picture of you to be painted out for the whole world to know.” She said and I sighed.

“Thank you for looking out for me Mom but I am grown now and I can take care of myself, I know what I am doing,” I added and she nodded but I could see the disappointment on her face.

“Whatever you are doing, stop it, imagine if that was your daughter or your mom going through the same thing, what would you have done?”

“In this life Mom, we don’t get to judge because we don’t know our destiny. Just let what is happening happen, you can’t change the fact that this is who I am.”

“Okay, why did you marry her? If you don’t love her anymore, why don’t you let her go?” she asked and that was the hardest question anyone had ever asked me.

I didn’t feel the same way about Kayla anymore but all I wanted was for her to stay under the same roof with me and not go anywhere or anyone have her for that matter, call me selfish that is just who I was.

“You wouldn’t understand mom, just let me be a mom,” I said vaguely.

“Okay, just know that it is not too late to change, whatever you are doing just think about it and I am sure you will have a change of heart.” She kept insisting until I begged her to change the subject which she did.

After the meeting with my mom, I chose to head back home and meet Kayla and fortunately, she walked in half an hour later, she reeked of alcohol but was not staggering, maybe she just had a few glasses, I didn’t bother asking a lot of questions because she didn’t question me when I came back home late.

I met with Stephen and his friends, I wanted him to do the task I gave him as soon as possible because I felt like I was being watched, and that night I caught the scent of someone but I couldn’t figure out who it was, I had my doubts on Kayla but when I found her asleep in her room, I got more confused, maybe it was time I got rid of them so I went ahead with the second phase of my plans.
