Marlie’s POV
I found Carter and Abbie downstairs, exiting the dining hall after they had their breakfast. I could hear that there were still people in there eating, so it was a little surprising that they were already leaving before everyone else, but it also made sense. Carter probably didn’t feel comfortable eating with the entire pack without me or Damian with him.
I suggested we spend some time outside, to which Abbie replied happily, and ran straight toward the backdoor. Carter and I followed her and as soon as we stepped out of the packhouse, two people who I assumed were supposed to be my guards showed up and followed us out.
