Marlie’s POV
April and Jay Jay took their leave after a few minutes and Damian and I spent the rest of the day with Abbie. I didn’t want to speak with him about everything that had happened yet even though I could feel all of his questions bubbling under the surface. I just wasn’t quite ready to relive anything that had happened yet, I just wanted to pretend that everything had been normal for the past week or however long it was that I was gone and that nothing was out of the ordinary.
It only took a couple of hours before Carter showed up in Abbie’s room and refused to leave my side, which didn’t bother me at all, it had been a while. I was happy to spend time with my brother, but I could tell his presence annoyed Damian to the core; he just wanted to spend time with me and Abbie alone
