The platinum ring with a large emerald cut diamond flanked either side with a smaller black diamond reflecting in the sun gave off small prisms of colour, my own personal rainbow. I placed my wedding ring and engagement ring from Colin onto my right hand they would always be with me, keeping the precious items safe until Molly was old enough to understand their meaning, and take ownership. The ring was beautiful, not just because of its appearance but for the very thing it portrayed, it filled me with hope for our future, I knew together we could face off anything that would come our way I was no longer alone.
If Val wanted to cause me and Sam to split apart by her actions she had failed, it only served to bring us even closer, and that gave me a high degree of satisfaction.
