Let There Be Light

Thick chains trailed down the hall past his tracks. The rust scratched into the floor. Blood from self-incision dripped stained the ground he walked on. Jeff struggled to carry Dani away. His arms felt bruised as though beaten with a hammer. Likewise, Andres had attempted to carry Leira away despite the burns and itches that ran along his back. The weight of the thin girl felt like that of the obese demon himself. Each step holding him back like shackles to his ankles. No matter how many times Andres had turned back to face the skinless demon, it had always got back into the chase. Dani shook her head along any body part that she could. It didn't help any. But Dani's distrust refused to give up. Jeff fell to the ground ready to give. Andres tripped over, dropping Leira. She failed to reach for her bow. The effects weighed even more so on her arms to the point of remaining flat. The skinless demon jumped towards Andres with a chained hook in hand. Dani flinched towards Jeff's g*n. The split second of Dani's movement made Jeff use his head for a moment. Despite the tender pain, Jeff shot the demon endlessly. Bullets sparked through the dim light hallway. The demon had no option. It fell to the wall standing with its blood as an offering. Andres laid his head down to ease the migraine. Logan and Vanessa weren't even his thoughts. However, the darkness running through the walls like waves in the ocean snapped everybody from their moment of consolation. Leira began asking for help, now understanding how useless she was. Having no more hope in him, Andres stood in preparation for the creature to come. It was evident that it was a spirit type. He yelled for Jeff to carry the two girls away while he holds off the next threat. He tried to argue until Andres snapped back in a deep threatful tone. Jeff looked down seeing no way of actually winning. Yet his fear of Andres forced him to grab the two girls by the back of their garments as he dragged them away. The images in the wall taunted Andres. It was himself laughing in misshaped proportions. His jaw was lower than Bubba's. He did his best to ignore the burning itches from his own face appearing in every part of his body. Their voices tormented him until he made his next move. The darkness focused right towards the skinless demon's still body as Andres threw down his sword and shield. His stance was firm strong waiting for the new. The skinless demon was stripped of its muscles, leaving the chain and bones to lay as punishment for failure. Jeff struggled running through the halls with the two girls. Luckily he made it far from the battle that ensued. Andres' spoke a prayer that sent jolts through his body. Tingling trickled the pain away to the point deaf. Muscles pumped as the darkness in the wall exploded towards him. Eisheth flew across like a plague in 2020. It took only an instant for her to appear inches away from Andres. Likewise, It took less than a second for him to punch her away. He knew not what exactly he hit except a giant ball of darkness. It didn't stop him from continuing. Eisheth flew back by the inch from each hit by the boy. Darkness vanquishing with each attack that connected. The knuckles bled through the tears of skin. Heavy kicks paired his strikes to throw the woman off balance. Her black hair was revealed. The tattoos across her body morphed into beautiful imagery to seduce Andres. His determination burnt past her trickery to beat her into the very wall she came from. The spirit of Eisheth felt it in each strike. It was fading away like a feeling of death she once knew. Every turn of her head was met with a blow from Andres. The mere breath warrants another to her lungs. She was disoriented from what she had known until a final punch came to her head. It was powerful enough to still her imagery on the wall. Likewise, enough to hold her body in place. Her head dangled like her arms for a brief moment. Andres himself was now stunned to the ground due to the effects of his berserk state. Despite dying away by the second, Eisheth mustered her powers once again to tear into Andres further. Chains from the wall shot out, grabbing him by each limb. It kept him at the brink of death just so Eisheth can flash the horror of his sins before him. Images of those he loved flashed on the wall behind Eisheth. Images of himself held him down at each end of the chains. It felt like blades piercing through his palms and feet. It sprang within his bones. His screams echoed the halls to his scurrying teammates who were so far away. tears meant nothing to Eisheth who continued to t*****e Andres with sequences of pain until his soul was absorbed. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Time flew within seconds as Jeff struggled through the halls. A dead demon with katana strikes in it was passed like trash. It gave enough hope to scream for Vanessa. But no response was given. Dani cried in her struggle whereas Leira remained calm as she was oblivious. Hope was given by a strange portal that was found in a hallway. It shined a liquid flow with no reflection. The frost up from the bubbly waves. Jeff was already stepping in. He fell through the portal, landing on his back with the two girls. Large breaths were taken in alleviation from the nightmare they went through. The calm was ended by Leira's screeching. Jeff look looked around noticing Mina was running up on a platform in the sky. Angels were flying after her. His heart stopped for a moment. The rips in his face were healing back to his human self. There were no angels near himself nor the two girls. To his feet, he sprang with his rifle in his shoulder. He shot at each of the angels flying towards Mina. He glided upwards on the platforms that had formed. Taking steady shots, none of the horned-angels could sustain two hits of Jeff's defiant bullets. The moment Leira felt mobility, she ran up the platform to join her scurrying friend. Dani's curse, which was at a greater peak was wearing off at a slower rate. Leaving her laying on the ground. Like a first-person shooter game, Jeff sniped any threat to come towards the girls. The spirits of his fallen comrades, including Andres, watched their leader put in work. It was obvious his abilities were well suited for this phase. The fact they ignore worldly defenses gave him the potential to wipe out nearly any threat. He shot at the increasingly overwhelming angels at the girls reached further to the top. None bothered to attack him. But the speed of his trigger finger and feet were falling. An explosion from Dani shot at a crowd of angels. The impact sent many falling. Even more so, it Gave Jeff the chance to catch up with Leira and Mina. The platforms continued to rise as the four ran against the odds. They led to a white door on a platform of its own. Jeff and Dani were firing at a rapid rate to ensure the two made it to the double white doors. Approaching the doors with her last bit of energy, Mina opened them begging, "Let it end"! A bright light shined through, blinding everybody from what was to come.
