Lucas skipped all his duties the rest of the day. He mindlinked Darcy to make sure she was fine in the kitchen without Celia, then kept Celia in his room. He spent the rest of the day and night showing her how much he cared, how much he had missed her.
At one point, Celia suggested they go back to her house, away from where his father might find them, but Lucas said no. He wanted his father to understand that this was his mate, and he had no intention of hiding her away again.
He knew Celia would insist on going home in the morning, if only to make sure Harold was all right. But for now, he enjoyed having her in his room, something he never would have dared when he was a teenager. Back then, he had always snuck into her room, never the other way around.
