I was in my office, in a meeting with Kael and Darius updating each other about what had happened the previous night. My head was aching from the lack of enough sleep, but I did not have the luxury of sleeping in. We had already gone through individual patrol reports from the warriors and a bit of morning training.
“Liam and Max did not scent anything on the eastern borders,” Darius said, pulling me back to our conversation. I had drifted off at some point.
Kael snorted from where he was slouched in one of the chairs opposite me, looking as exhausted as I was, “Because whatever dropped her off didn’t come from there. I’m telling you, Alpha, this smells wrong.”
