Morgana arrived at the worst possible moment. When I glanced at Corinna, I noticed she was staring at my father's widow. Given that Morgana was slightly older than me and a beautiful Alpha she-wolf, Corinna might have thought I was involved with her. The expression on Corinna's face hurt me deeply, but I couldn't help it.
I couldn't show my feelings, especially not in front of Morgana. As expected, I quickly dismissed Corinna, pretending I didn’t care about her at all. I made sure Barrett would help her find her way back to my room.
Morgana had nothing of importance to say. She brought up her niece again and kept repeating herself. She expressed her regret that her niece could only visit us in the summer and asked me to ensure her stay would be comfortable.
