Corinna's POV
I stood there, feeling a wave of panic wash over me. I couldn't grasp the situation at all. Why did he start talking to me? Why was he questioning me?
But as I stood there in front of him, all I could think about was stopping him from going to Emma. After she had punished me with three lashes from the whip, I couldn't bear the thought of what would happen if the Alpha unleashed his anger on her.
"Alpha, please calm down," I said, wanting to reach out and touch him, but remembering the last time, I held back.
When I noticed his gaze go blank, it seemed like he was about to mind-link with someone, so I felt I had no choice but to act. I gently touched his face. "Alpha?" I called softly, and his gaze returned to reality as he looked into my eyes.
