Kalilah’s POV It wasn’t until I was finally far outside of Portland that I felt like I could breathe. The main reason I felt like I could breathe was because I had put enough distance between Damon and myself. Where was I heading? Well, I had no f*****g idea. Before Axel did this to me, I had a purpose and knew what I was doing with my life. Then I was blinded, and I shifted my plan to revenge. Revenge made sense. Then I met Damon, and it threw me for a loop. Everything that happened since was mind-boggling. But I wasn’t going to keep thinking about Damon. Even though my wolf wanted to reach out to him. At least we had enough distance between us to ensure our wolves weren’t going to try to talk to one another in our dreams. I moved through the forest, each step careful and silent. I
