“Mommy!” I heard a loud cry from the kitchen so I stopped drafting the interior design for a condominium unit. “Grace!” Aunt Leilani called me in urgency. I immediately ran to the kitchen to check on my son who I left playing with his puppy, Groggy. He’s a Siberian Husky. “What happened?” I asked Aunt Leilani who was looking at my son in horror. My eyes widened when I saw Paul Alexander covered in mud. I immediately dashed and kneeled in front of him. “Where have you been?” I asked. Paul smiled widely and pointed to the direction of the garden. I looked at Groggy beside him and saw how he, like my son, is covered morbidly with mud. “We played, Mom!” he said proudly. I pursed my lips in a thin line as my heart calmed down. For a moment, I thought something happened to my son. I do
