I felt heat spread across my cheeks, the warm rush of affection for him moving through me. “I know, I love you too.”
Shifting off the couch, I walked into the kitchen, fixing myself a glass of water. I needed to head to the store, but I knew that Talon needed to head home to get ready for work.
She would be there.
Waiting for him. I wondered if this would be the thing that made her realize that we were together. That being with me wouldn’t put him in danger. It would give him a reason to be safe so that he could come home to me.
