POV: Adriana I woke up with a very strange feeling of heaviness in my chest. The sunlight slipped in through the curtains, coloring the room in gold, but it didn’t chase away the restless knot I felt in my stomach. Today was supposed to be another normal day in school, but somehow, I knew something was coming. Something I couldn’t name. I got out of bed, took my bath and went to the walk in closet. My hands immediately reached for the black bootcut jeans I’d been obsessed with lately. They hugged my waist perfectly before flowing out at the bottom, making me feel taller and…put together. With my black ankle boots, I almost felt like I had an invisible sense of confidence. My eyes fell on one of my hoodies. My safe choice. My comfort. But the memory of Darius’ voice stopped me cold.
