Angelica
Grandpa and Grandma took me into their office inside the magically beautiful mansion on the fourth floor and I told them everything - what happened, who it was and why I'm here. They understood perfectly and Grandpa was ready to kill something. "How dare that son of a b***h! How dare he do that to my grandbaby girl!" Grandpa yelled, his voice almost shaking the room.
Grandma stood up from her seat and placed a calming hand upon his shoulder and he visibly relaxed, placing his even bigger hand on her small delicate one. "Thanks, Martha. But it just makes me so angry-"
"Now now, Victor," she soothed. "What's done is done. He's gone and she's here. What we have to do now is make sure she's happy and hope that he doesn't come back for her."
I smiled warmly at Grandpa as he marched over to me and hugged me once again. "I'm so sorry you had to endure that, my darling."
"It's okay, Grandpa. Like Grandma said, what's done is done. We just move on." I gave my loving Grandpa one more squeeze before he drew back.
"Right. Speaking of moving on," he went to his desk and sat down before continuing. "Are you willing to join my pack?"
I nodded.
"It'll mean we'll have to do a ceremony so you will bond with the pack, and because you are of my blood, you will become of Alpha ranking, rather than Beta. Do you accept?"
Again, I nodded. Grandma and Grandpa smiled happily. Grandma hugged me as I stood up with Grandpa ruffling my hair as if I was five years old again. "We will do the ceremony in three weeks, hopefully, you'll get settled by then," Grandpa informed me. "Welcome home, my darling."
And for the first time since this whole thing has happened, I did feel at home. However, although I felt happy I could feel my wolf whining and stirring ever so slightly. I knew what she wanted, I knew who she wanted but it just wasn't going to happen. It couldn't. Our mate left us, meaning he rejected us - we have to move on for our own sake and sanity. If his family are a part of the Council, then Goddess knows what kind of sick twisted bastard he really was. He could kill us, torture us for fun, strip me bare of my wolf spirit and leave me to go insane until I eventually killed myself. No. I couldn't do it, I don't care if our souls were meant for one another the Fates obviously got something wrong and I wasn't going to let myself suffer for it. No matter what.
~four weeks later~
It's been a week since I became a part of my grandpa's pack and it's been wonderful so far. Garcia came up to me the other day and again apologised for what she did and I forgave her - easily. Even though she didn't really think it through, she was just protecting what was hers. So now Lu, Garcia and I are friends and we have our little hangout spot near a river not far from the packed house. They've become my good friends even though I'm friends with a lot of the other wolves my age, Lu and Garcia I trust with my life.
We were gathered by our river with a picnic basket and a flannel blanket, getting ready to celebrate a memorable occasion. Today is Lu and Garcia's 1 year anniversary and Lu wants me to help with his surprise for her.
We laid down the blanket and basket and gathered out the sandwich's my grandma made for us, along with some fruit and chocolate bars. Also inside was a bottle of Garcia's favourite wine with plastic wine glasses, but she didn't know about them yet. "Ew, I don't like a curried egg, Angel, wanna swap?"
"Do you like a salad sandwich with mayo?"
"Hell yeah, pass it over." Garcia and I swapped happily while Lu checked all the neatly wrapped sandwiches. "What're you looking for?" Garcia asked him.
"Lookin' for ham 'n' cheese, it's my favourite." It was almost time for me to leave. As soon as he says the code word, I give my excuse and poof, I'm gone. He shuffled the sandwiches around a little more until... "Boom, jackpot!" Lu shouted in triumph as he held up a ham and cheese sandwich. I laughed along with Garcia and then stood up.
"I'm gonna go for a quick run," I said taking off my sweater and passing it to Garcia.
"Okay, we'll join you after our lunch," Garcia said with a mouthful of lettuce. I chuckled.
"Take your time." I sprinted off far away from them, out of werewolf earshot. I was out of earshot thankfully so I stopped running. However, when I did stop, my stomach lurched and felt as if I was punched. From a far distance, I heard Garcia scream happily and I grinned for a second before I doubled over, landing on my hands and knees. Nausea and dizziness took over. It didn't matter how many times I shook my head to clear my vision, nausea shook my body until I spilled out my breakfast and lunch all over the grass. What's wrong with me?
I threw up again and again until I was practically just dry retching, my throat scratching and itching like sandpaper.
"Angel," Lu's voice called out. I couldn't answer as I continued to dry retch. "Angel?" I tried to call out but I choked on my saliva and I coughed and dry retched more until their voices became closer. "Oh, my Goddess, Angel! Garcia, call for help!"
"What's happening? Oh Goddess, Angie! Are you okay?"
Slithers of darkness were crawling around my vision and I began to lose my consciousness. I faintly heard the voices of my friends but soon I heard nothing as I blacked out completely.
