The room was nicely furnished, comfortable, and cozy. It also had a door to provide privacy. Tru and I sat on one of the couches, waiting for the staff to let Lucy know we were here. Tru glanced at the open door, his entire body taunt with anxiety. I held his hand, soothing with my thumb, hoping this would go well. When she finally walked through the door, I couldn’t stop the smile. Lucy looked so much better than the last time I’d seen her.
