I was in my office reviewing border reports when Aria burst through the door. Her face was flushed with anger, and I could smell blood on her clothes. My protective instincts kicked in immediately.
"Are you hurt?" I asked, standing up quickly.
"Not me. Bran. He was injured during patrol because Daniel deliberately undermined my authority."
The words hit me like a physical blow. "What do you mean undermined your authority?"
Aria sat down and explained the entire patrol encounter. By the time she finished, I was shaking with rage. Thunder was roaring in my mind, demanding that I put Daniel in his place once and for all.
"This cannot continue," I said, my voice dangerously quiet. "Daniel has crossed a line that cannot be uncrossed."
