(Daniel) I leave Magnus's strategy room with orders that should make me feel powerful. Instead, I feel empty. Hire rogues. Attack supply routes. Hurt Moonridge from the inside. These are things I never imagined doing. Things that would have disgusted me a month ago. But now they're just tasks on a list. Steps toward revenge. I know where to find rogues. There's a camp about ten miles from Silverpeak territory, in the unclaimed lands between packs. Wolves who were exiled or left their packs voluntarily. Desperate, angry people who will do anything for money or a sense of belonging. People like me. The walk takes two hours. I could shift and run, but I need the time to think. To prepare what I'm going to say. To bury whatever remains of my conscience deep enough that it won't interfere
