"What did you see?" Aphrodite asks me when it's just us both in the room. I feel a taste of metal on my tongue but I let it slide. If I have to believe what these people told me, then I was so close to being trapped in the past. So obviously there would be few after effects.
"Daniel wanted The Madfur Pack for himself. He wanted to do it through the wedding between Paxton and I. But since my father refused, he killed them both. But he thought he did. My mother escaped and gave birth to me on human lands. That's why I was raised to be a human. With you watching over me," I tell her now that all the pieces are coming together and things are starting to make more sense.
Aphrodite doesn't say anything other than nod, before pulling me close to her and hugging me once again. T
