It felt like a heavy weighted blanket had settled over the entire pack. Everyone I encountered was so sad, and rightfully so. But sad was just the tip of the iceberg, really. People were scared, and confused, and some were angry. Scared and confused weren’t emotions that had previously been displayed to me at all, and it was unsettling, to say the least. I finished assisting the warriors bag our dead at the border of the protection spell, and then I helped them move the bodies to the morgue. I knew I masked how mortified I was that there was a morgue in the first place. Werewolves typically didn’t need a morgue. Bodies were rarely housed for long before death ceremonies were held, and the deceased was buried by their family. Back home, corpses would simply be placed in a hospital exam
