The moment I stepped out of Morana’s cottage, I didn’t stop. I didn’t pause to think. My boots crushed the underbrush as I moved fast through the forest. I was barely feeling the cold air biting at my face. I didn’t shift. I didn’t need to. My car was parked not far from the edge of the trees, and I needed to move fast....faster than my wolf could run.
Lisa was in danger.
I didn’t know what kind of danger. Morana couldn’t say. But she was certain. And so was Valric.
"We should have gone to her sooner," Valric growled inside my head.
"I know," I muttered and yanked the car door open. My fingers trembled as I shoved the key into the ignition. "I was stupid. I thought I could deal with Roxanne first."
