_Kael's POV_ I had barely pulled onto the road when my phone buzzed in the passenger seat. I grabbed it, eyes flicking from the screen to the highway ahead. It was my father. I sighed. The timing couldn’t have been worse. I stared at the screen for a moment, reluctant to answer. But I couldn’t ignore him. "Pick up," Valric growled. "It might be important." I hit the answer button.
