I should probably get the hell out of here. But I’m in a floating house in the underworld, stuck with a demon–I don’t exactly have anywhere to run to.
“Why did you curse us?” I ask.
“Actually, it wasn’t me. It was the demon I summoned. A normal priestess cannot subvert the Goddess’s will.”
“But you are the one who summoned the demon.”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Someone threatened my life and my family.”
“Who? Who asked you to do this to us?”
“The Alpha whose mate you stole.”
