I chewed on the side of my thumb anxiously. My eyes darted towards the Motel sign blinking above the rundown building in front of me as I let out a shuddering breath.
Okay, maybe I should’ve read the reviews first… But the price it would’ve cost to go to one of the other hotels downtown was ridiculous. Especially since I was planning on staying for at least a week.
“You’re just being extra. It isn’t that bad.” I tried to assure myself just as a loud car came roaring by, making my heart almost explode from my chest. Ugh, why am I so jumpy right now!
Maybe I should’ve gotten here a little earlier…the fact that it’s dark as hell out right now is putting me even more on edge I think. But I had to run to the store to get a few basics and it took a little longer than I expected.
