“If we can think of a way to make sure both you and I would be safe on those travels, then I can take you with me. But what could we tell the council? They surely won’t agree. Unless we’re just visiting noble houses, they can accept that. They trust noble families to prioritize our safety. It’s not the same when visiting commoners’ communities.”
Laura became silent. It’s not as if she could quickly think of a solution. It showed on her face that she’s already trying to think of a way.
He took her hand and held it.
“I was hoping father would fully recover. When that happens, he can return to his duties and I’ll have more time to execute this plan. I’m sure he would approve of the idea; he also loves the people but he’s not reckless. If it’s too risky, he won’t allow it.”
