Encounter with a Higher Specter Demon

Samantha did not hesitate with the Medusagon's Tribe Leader Melvad, though Medra seemed to notice something wrong with her father that a faint magic presence which was new to her feels odd Medra did not mind that thing for the moment, and that she was grateful to her father who defended her, and for Samantha who accepted her father's apology in her stead.

Medra who was touched by Samantha's kind words to her got teary eyes, and a few moments then hugged Samantha.

"I should have listened to you, I wished you are the first person I encounter," Medra said as she started to cry.

Medra did not want to hurt any humans in the first place and remembering the bad deeds she have done to the villagers of the town Aliw made her feel guilty. She remembered the two humans she had killed in the process which by far hurt her the most, the female child that was 7 years old was left after her mother gazed and was petrified by her eyes even if Medra did not intend to do so, the child who was crying and holding her hands to her stoned mother did not dare to run away and stayed at the place, Medra felt bad for such thing to happen and she just intended to look for the man who assaulted her and gain her revenge but things got out of hand, the guards ran away prior to the event and no players were on the town that time to stop her, Medra's assaulter was long gone on the town before she even reached the place. As the town was emptied but the child and her stoned mother. Medra remembered how she tried to calm the child, as the child crumpled herself and cried, Medra did come closer to her, she touched the child's mother and due to her skill, "copy" she shifted for a few moments into someone that looks like the child's mother. Medra touched the child's shoulder gently, and the kid instantly regained herself and thought that her mother was the one who touched her left shoulder.

"Mama," the child happily muttered and wiped her tears still not facing Medra at the moment, and continued wiping her tears. The original stoned form of the little girl's mother was long dispersed, and so the child's assumption that it must be her mother increased. Medra bent her knees trying to match the child's tiny height. The child sweetly laugh and slowly turned around while she closes her eyes and showed a sweet and lively clean smile towards Medra who assumed the child's mother's form. The child touched Medra's face and kissed her on the forehead. The child then opened her eyes, and at the last sight of seeing her mother's image, she felt happy. Medra felt happy too, and that the gentle hand of the innocent child calms her for a few moments, it was then that after the child opened her eyes, turned to stone like her mother who watched over Medra.

"I love you, mama," the child was able to mutter these words before she was turned to stone. Since Medra was held by the child that time, after the kid turned to stone, her previous form shift as the child's mother ended and she was then transformed as the kid who just got stoned by her petrifying gaze.

Monsters don't usually feel bad for others than for themselves but Medra felt broken and that her heart aches badly. Medra did not even notice that tears were running down from her eyes while assuming the child's form. She felt weak for the moment and her knees fell on the ground, she was gazing directly at the moment as she tries to understand the feelings she currently tries to connect with. Her eyes continously release the tears from the sorrow and guilt and got back to her senses after she heard the drop of water from her face to the ground, it was her tears. Later then Medra got back to her original form, and because of extreme guilt, she cannot do something that to go wild. Medra bursted her energy and shouted, and her sudden release of power caused her coercion influence to extended and grew stronger. It was then that the place started to destroy, due to Medra's anger, the clouds above the skies were infected with her powers, and fire showers the town of aliw. These caused the wide destruction of the town's infrastructures. Medra regained herself back and calmed. She roams around her sight throughout the place and immediately cast a wide range water magic to stop the fire showers and burning of the town's infrastructures.

Medra was able to put out the fire after a few minutes but a lot of damage was left after the event, and she cannot do something about that matter.

Medra has stayed in the destroyed town for a few days since that time since she cannot go back to her tribe. After 4 days, some players tried to challenge her but were not strong enough to defeat her. As 5 people attempted her day after day, Medra reigned victoriously and gained some power stones in the process. It was a week before Samantha accepted the mission to defeat her, and Medra almost got defeated as the previous event happened not until her father Melvad came to the rescue.

Samantha hugged Medra back and comforted her for the moment.

A few minutes then passed and Medra then stopped her crying and regained her natural self. Melvad leads them the way while Samantha and Medra followed Melvad who went ahead of them. They were busy introducing themselves while they were heading to the town of Medusagons, and felt close to each other in just a matter of minutes while they were bonding and talking as they head towards Medra's hometown.

After a few minutes of travel, Melvad with Samantha and Medra reached the gate of Medusagon's town. Unlike human towns, their village was secured with a sealing barrier that encloses the entire village, and the gate needs to be unlocked with the chant, and another layer of the barrier was also erected inside the village. The entire town was concealed inside the location and only the gate of the town can be seen. Melvad then chanted, and the town's red gate then glowed with transparent blue, the village was then perceivable inside the limited space of the town and it was already opened for them to enter.

Melvad entered the gate portal first and followed by Medra and Samantha. After entering, the gate then glowed red again and got automatically closed.

Inside the town of Medusagons, well-made structures and houses were present, even their decorative structures and statuses were quite impressive. The town was a bit prosperous than the town of Ligaya which Samantha currently book her rent, and so their barrier defense was tougher than what was on the human town she happened to visit with.

Melvad walked to the center of the town's plaza and Samantha and Medra followed him but while they were walking, Medra felt something odd about their village since the same faint strange magic presence and influence lurks around their village and since Samantha was new, she did not feel such odd situation. Medra held Samantha's right hand and started to walk slower, and having her bad feeling about the situation. Every of the medusagon they met, adult, teenager or even child, they got the same amount of odd presence within them.

"Samantha..." Medra spoke in a low voice.

Samantha stopped walking and so as Medra said those, Melvad did resume walking ahead of them.

Medra went closer to Samantha and whispered, "Don't you feel something weird around our town?" Medra asked.

"I don't feel such nor know of what's something wrong," Samantha replied in a low voice.

Aside from the fact that the town looks odd, there were no other races than Medusagons around which did not happen before, and the town got at least 100 visitors around or usually around 500 visitors visiting their village.

"We should escape away from here Samantha, I feel something's wrong about things..."

Medra started walking back to the gate, and do escape the town as soon as possible, even if she misses their village, coming back with something wrong around does not fit her wish of being pardoned from her mistakes before and returning to their tribe as a reward for such.

While they were walking back, they heard a monstrous and demonic voice that echoed throughout the place.

"You'll be part of my army, child of medusagon's tribe leader,"

Samantha and Medra felt the odd monstrous strong presence but cannot determine which was the presence coming from.

A villainous laugh was heard around the town but Samantha and Medra were both confused about where was the voice had also come from.

"Oh I see, no one can detect me, a higher spectre demon," the voice continued to echoed around the town.

In the Terrania world, demons were of the strongest race, but aside from the fact that there were real demons around as they were monsters they still needed to accumulate their strengths and instead of promotion into a creature with a demon last name, they then descended as dark demons, those individuals who got a demon on their name were evolved creatures and granted them the name of their race and addition of demon, spectre was one of the weakest race but higher spectres was 2x stronger than the lesser and common spectres. Higher Spectre Demon was another thing, aside from the said scenario as odd to happen for spectres to descend the ranks of demons, they might be able to accumulate power but a spectre promoted to the ranks of demon class monster, Medra was doubtful but, indeed, the same faint magic presence was also detected from the echoed voice of the higher spectre claiming to reach demon class.

Spectres were known for mind-controlling and if Medra's assumption was right, her entire folks might be controlled by the spectre and that both Medra and Samantha were in danger. Aside from that, the spectre probably ordered her fellow medusagons to s*******r the visiting neighbors and gain greater power which surpassed her father's that should be twice impossible but cannot be disregarded as her father also got the same faint magic presence around him.

A sudden swirl of dust fragments showed up, and a shabby appearance of a higher spectre showed up, which got multiple power stones around its body. 20 gemstones, the minimum requirement to descend to demon class, the spectre wasn't bluffing at all. Just like airflow, the spectre vanishes and showed up in a different spot swiftly.

Samantha and Medra understand their situation, and they don't waste a time just standing and exposing themselves to possible dangers. They ran away and head to where the gate was and planned to escape away.

"You can't escape away from me," the Higher Spectre Demon confidently said as his voice echoed throughout the town and later laughed villainously.

Samantha and Medra saw that the Medusagon villagers were rushing towards them.

Multiple showers of spells were directed to them. Acid rain showers, Fire showers, wind blades, thunder lightning, Earth spears, poison flower bombs, light beams, and dark strikes. While Samantha and Medra were busy escaping and rushing to the town's gate, Blueza and Pinko made their best to protect their master and her friend, Medra.

Blueza and Pinko cast barrier spells after the spell of one of them broke, and the other instantly shift her or his turn and the other will prepare to cast another barrier magic in a time when the present cast barrier wears out.

Medra and Samantha's aura unified to resist the mental attack of the higher-spectre demon.

They reached the spot where the gate was but a monster direct underling of the demon class higher spectre which was a named evil creature by the said spectre. It was an all-eye devil which supposed to be harmless but after the higher spectre demon named the creature, the-eye devil gained quite of knowledge and power which lives to do as the spectre orders them to do.

The eyes of the spectre also got the petrifying attribute but that was nothing compared to Medra's power and so Samantha wasn't affected nor Medra. Samantha and Medra cast "Light Burn" and target the all-eye devil which immediately died but to their surprise, the creature slowly regenerates itself even directly receiving the light magic that was effective against evil creatures.

Without sparing a second, Samantha and Medra chanted "Light Burst" which was similar to "Light Burn" but requires much magic power still, "Light Burst" deals more than "Light Burn" damage.

"Light Burst!" Samantha and Medra chanted in chorus.

The all-eye devil's body glowed and later bursted. The devil blocking their way was then gone.

Medra tried to unlock the gate but she cannot open the gate.

"No, why the gate is not opening!" Medra worriedly muttered.

"What's the wrong Medra," Samantha asked Medra as she was busy firing counter-attack spells and erecting barrier magic alongside Blueza and Pinko and giving Medra some time to open the gate.

"Samantha, we are trapped! The gate's not opening..." Medra replied.

"We can escape away from here Medra, I know a way," Samantha comforted Medra.

While they were busy firing counter-attacks and stalling the advancing Medusagons, Samantha told Medra about the plan.

After a short conversation. They then cast their final barrier and let Blueza and Pinko continue the defense.

Samantha started to chant and her triangular magic symbol was marked on the ground that enclosed their space, Medra also did the same process and her four sides magic symbol was marked on the ground and combined with Samantha.

The Wind and Light magic pure spells that were incorporated within their symbol mark. Since Samantha and Medra got their common mark place, the town of aliw where Medra stayed for long that her coercion influence left a fragment of her powers and Samantha who left a trace of her power in case of an emergency that she may teleport to the spot.

They heard the violent rushing of the winds and the Higher Spectre demon was rushing towards their spot.

"I won't allow such a thing to happen!" The spectre angrily said as his voice echoed throughout the place.

The demon spectre enclosed the entire village with his Octagon Magic Mark and tried to envelop the town with impurities to block any attempt of teleportation.

"You're late!" Samantha and Medra replied.

Before the spectre successfully infected the town with impure power, Samantha and Medra were able to teleport back to the destroyed town of Aliw.

Blueza and Pinko were both exhausted, and currently resting within Samatha's Shadow. Medra offered Samantha to ride on her and they went to a safer place since the spectre probably follow them. Samantha did agree and Samantha suggested that they should head towards the town of Ligaya. Medra was not sure of it but decided to agree. A few minutes and they reached nearby the town of Aliw after traveling fast through the air.

"Uhm... So I'll be leaving from here on Samantha, take care..." Medra said.

"Wait, where are you going Medra?" Samantha asked.

"I need to save my family, that stupid spectre dared to control our kind, I can't forgive such thing, I should help them..." Medra said but knows that she's powerless base on her sad tone.

"Medra, I know you wanted to help them and so am I, I wanted to assist you too and release your kind from the Higher Spectre demon's control but we needed to prepare ourselves first, come with me first," Samantha replied.

"But I can't stare at other humans, my gaze might turn them to stones, I don't want that," Medra insisted.

"Base on my research, you can Medra, all you need to do is activate your defensive aura," Samantha replied.

"Wait, how can I do that?" Medra felt like a ray of hope lighted on her.

Samantha and Medra spent some time in the woods nearby the human town of Ligaya and discussed the information that Samantha knew about. After detailing everything Medra felt like she can do it, and immediately started to do the process.

The first thing was to deactivate her coercion aura, the next one was to repattern her power gemstones. With the use of her mind, Medra can change the power stones' position, and the colors of the gemstones will just shift from one another.

It's said that their original fire power stones must be placed at the last or 5th in the arrangement of Medra's owned power stones and put their second common power stones which was the wind element stone at the first spot. And other power stones' positions were not that necessary to arrange. Medra spent some seconds doing it, and after successfully performing the process, her defensive aura manifested.

"Yay! You did it Medra," Samantha happily congratulated Medra for her achievement of activating her defensive aura. Samantha hugged Medra and was smiling.

"I won't be able to do this without your help Samantha, I am so grateful," Medra replied.

A few seconds and Medra's medusagon form shifted, her wings can now be hidden when she wanted it, and her hair turned to human hairs. Medra's snake-like lower body started to shreds and magic power dust bursted as she gained feet. In the current form, Medra can hide her true identity. Her snake eyes then shifted to human-like eyes and so as her facial features especially her tongue. With these forms, Medra can safely visit human towns and not harm everyone, a snake symbol then showed up on her face, and just like Samantha's leaf mark, the snake mark of Medra concealed itself.
