I clutched Hayden's and Lucas's hands so tightly that I swear I was depriving them of blood flow. Being the ever-loving mates they were, they hadn't complained. Instead, they were rubbing my knuckles with their hands as Tristan stood behind me and massaged my shoulders, helping to ease some of the tension. Honestly, they all just had to be near me, and everything would be okay again.
Natala sat in front of me, next to Papa; both had small comforting smiles on their faces. They had asked if I wanted some time to relax before we talked, but I insisted on getting it over with. The more I knew, the better understanding I would have of what was to happen and how to prevent Daddy's attempt to shield me from going in vain.
