Natala and Papa's words about the risk to my life swirled through my mind. Even though I had agreed to break the spell, I was now filled with reluctance. After a sleepless night of tossing and turning, I couldn't help but let my mind wander to the what-ifs of the situation. Had I agreed too quickly? What if my situation was different from Natala's, and I ended up dying regardless? Would my mates mourn me if that were the case? What would Daddy think of all this?
