I hoped that Mary would be asleep by the time I got home. The first hint I got to be hopeless was the front door was unlocked. She would have intentionally locked me out just to punish me for showing up late but it wasn't locked. Not withstanding, I still made sure to open the door sneakily. The living room was empty, thank God. I secured the door locked and began to sneak into the house. My luck was soon cut short when I heard her call me from the kitchen that was joined with the living room. "And where on earth are you coming from?"
