How was I supposed to talk to the child in Mary's presence. I didn't want to raise any suspicions as far as I was concerned but this was the sound of a child I hadn't heard in six months and who knew what could happen if I even dared to decline the phone call. "Please hold on for a second, okay?" I spoke into the phone both nervous and excited at the same time. "Okay." She agreed, causing relief to wash over me. I placed the call on hold and turned to Mary, "I'm going to go take this outside." I said to her. "What? Why?!" She widened her eyes, taken aback by my sudden suggestion. I knew I couldn't keep Sally waiting for too long and so without argument, I walked out of the room and locked her in with a click of the key ignoring her loud banging against the door.
