13. Our wolves

We were both panting heavily. I almost died. The stranger must have exerted too much energy by swimming and taking me back to the shore with him. However, though I barely made it alive, I felt tingles running through me again. I wanted to touch and kiss this strange man, and maybe even more. I got so furious with myself. What is going on with me? I had failed to escape again and now have this desire for someone I had never seen in my life. I got so mad! I felt something powerful emerging within me. Fueled by rage, I kicked him in the groin. He must not have expected it. He growled and let go of my arms. Good! That gave me even more energy. Miraculously, I could push him off myself. He fell on his back on the sand. I jumped on him and slapped him in the face. I was so angry that I could not escape the island, and I put all my rage into the man that pulled me out of the water. I wanted to scream, but only tears were rolling down my face as I was still muted. Surprisingly, the man didn't fight me, and then in the light of the moon, I saw it was Alpha Jakob staring at me. I instantly froze. "Are you done?" he asked, and I nodded. "I was just saving your life. I almost went down with you. The collars keep us on the island by inflicting pain when we reach its border." All my rage had gone away, and I sobbed even more and fell on his broad chest. I wanted to say that I was so sorry because he saved me, and I hurt him in return. Jakob just sat there, hugging me and rubbing my hair. He kissed me on the forehead. We were all soaked. I could feel all the tingling again from his touch. In fact, our wet bodies could really feel each other through our wet clothes. His chest was so hard, and I could feel his heart beating. I looked at him and pulled his long damp hair covered in sand from his face. I was still on top of him and felt every breath he took. His breathing paused while I was fixing his hair. Then he exhaled again. We stared at each other as if we had never seen each other before. At that moment, I understood Jakob had saved my life. Maybe he was not a terrible person after all. I reached in and touched his cheek with my hands. He held my face with his giant hands, and the warmth and tingles kept circling all over me, the butterflies in my stomach, all my insides starting to pull. I went for a kiss, and he responded. Our lips touched. We tasted each other as we had tasted nothing like that. I had felt as if we were connected to each other by a thousand threads. The pleasure was almost unbearable, and I wanted more. The few kisses I had before never lasted or made me feel anything at all. I also never French kissed or allowed anyone to do it, but this time was so different and divine, like I was inside someone else's body. I gently pushed my tongue into his mouth. He let me, parting his lips so I could explore him inside and out. A wave of pleasure hit me. His tongue was touching mine and sliding it into my mouth. I was so lost in the moment that I forgot everything about why and where I was there. Our tongues were creatures of their own, dancing and connecting us. After what seemed like an eternity, we took a deep breath and sat up. Jakob looked at me quizzically. "What made you run away like that in the middle of the night? You're lucky I noticed you and could tell that something was off. Why did Maria let you go?" I couldn't speak or explain anything. "Let me try something," he said, putting his hand on my head and my hand on his head. "Focus," he said. "Our wolves may be able to communicate with each other, and we could talk through them if they allow it, but you have to clear your mind and only think about the connection between our wolves. Your wolf must have spoken to you. So concentrate, and your wolf will help you build a connection with mine. With my hand on his forehead, I tried to visualize my wolf. I attempted to form a mental image of his prison, his chains, his body, his mighty head, and his sad eyes. However, the sensation of his touch and the pleasure of being near Jakob were too much for me to concentrate on the wolf. Nothing was happening except for me thinking about our passionate kiss, touching his face, and hair. I tried to focus solely on the wolf, but I couldn't. I did try, though. "I can't do this," Jakob finally said, breaking his silence. "We'll try again another time. But first, let me escort you back to Maria." I shook my head and pointed towards the mansion. Knowing that I had to go back, I was worried about Jessika locking me up in the cage for being late. "I understand," Jakob said, taking my hand, and we headed towards the mansion. Jessika must have been furious with me. I had left the trailer early to arrive at the party on time, but I had no idea how long my escape had taken. I could run to Maria's and get a change of clothes, but that would undoubtedly make me even later. So, I decided to take my chances and go straight to the mansion instead. I didn't want to go there, but I knew I had to. The collar wouldn't let me escape. Jakob walked with me until we reached the gates. "I can't enter the Master's mansion without an invitation," he said. "Be careful, try not to get into trouble again," and he disappeared into the darkness. I walked into the house through the servants' entrance, and Jessika was waiting for me, furious. "You're thirty minutes late!" she exclaimed. "Why do I smell Alpha Jakob all over you?!"
