Someone knocked on my window next to the couch where I was sleeping. I looked out and saw Jakob waving at me.
I quietly opened the trailer and stepped into the chilly night. The smell of the woods hit my nostrils. It was absolutely divine and mixed with his smell. He embraced me and kissed me passionately. His body was so warm I could not stop and started kissing him right there.
"I was waiting for you. Why are you not in my trailer?" Jakob asked. "I could not sleep without you. I hope you still want to be here with me after I shared with you what happened,” he admitted.
I nodded my head. Of course, I wanted to be with him more than ever.
I still was unable to speak to him, but I also didn't really have the answer for him. I think I was just so confused the night before. We walked to his trailer, and when we reached the entrance, he picked me up in his arms and carried me inside.
I could tell that he tidied up what he could in his little space this time. He even got flowers on the table for me. But, of course, I still had my pen and notes.
I signed for him to put me down.
I pulled stickies out while he was staring at me in shock. Then, I wrote, "I care about you, and nothing you can tell me would change that."
He growled, grabbed me, and started kissing me on my lips, almost biting me and holding my face. Then, he picked me up and took me to his bed.
"You can't show the notes you have to anyone. Please do not risk this. You cannot even have this on you. I can't have them punish you. I can't take it. Leave this stuff with me." He told me.
I nodded my head again. I couldn't imagine giving up the only voice that I had just got.
"We'll hide it in my trailer," he said. I decided to kiss him, so he stopped asking me about the only tool I had to speak. I started to kiss him, and he responded, biting my lip and sucking on my tongue. Our bodies were beside each other, and we wanted so much more.
We were lying, feeling each other, caressing each other. I was aroused, almost hurting, and wet, but Jakob didn't go any further.
I was not sure why he didn't want to go further. I knew he had feelings for me. Otherwise, why would he have hurried me to come in the middle of the night? Maybe he just wanted me to sleep under his watch? And I enjoyed him and our closeness until I drifted to sleep in his arms.
We woke up together. I had to run back to Maria's trailer, so we could go to the mansion with her. I kissed Jakob on the lips and he woke up. We hugged and kissed before I really had to run. I didn't want to make Maria worry about me.
We walked with Maria when she told me: "You should probably take your stuff to his place, so you don't have to rush around like this anymore."
I nodded. I was wondering that as well.
Other things were running through my mind.
I wish I could hold Seth's controller somehow. That would have changed things around. I wanted to do something for Jakob, for the pack. They deserved better life than they had.
I was at the mansion getting ready for the cleaning duty for the toilets again when Jessika called me.
"Master wants to talk to you in the basement. Do not make him wait."
I inhaled and forgot to exhale. I knew I could not run. I hoped it was, at least, not Seth. I never saw him commanding Jessika before.
I went down the stairs, and Mr. Jules was waiting for me there.
"Come here," he commanded. "Get in the cage."
I complied, knowing he could inflict pain on me at any moment. What does he possibly want from me? Did he find out about me writing on stickies? Was that enough to land me back in the cage?
"I want to know," he continued, "about the night my people tried to abduct you in the woods."
He pressed something on the control on his wrist, and I was getting ready for the pain, but I felt a jolt in my throat and knew I had my voice back.
"Did you send them to kidnap me?" I asked, realizing my mistake right away.
He pressed something, and pain ran through me. But it was not as horrible as the guards inflicted on me when I got to the island.
"This is just a warning pain," he told me, "I was hoping our conversation would go easier after you have been here for a while," he said. "Did you still not learn that you do not ask questions here, only I do?"
I nodded because I was used to doing it by now.
"Good girl," he said like I was some pet.
"Now, I need you to tell me exactly what happened that night, or you will be in a world of pain and stay there for a long time. No one can help you."
I swallowed.
There used to be a lot of mystery and unknown for me about the first night I got thrown into this world of masters and werewolves. I was wondering what exactly he wanted to know. Why was this so important to him? Why did he not bring this up in the trial?
"I was walking through the woods," I started, "and they tried to capture me. So, I ran, but I fell." I was talking nervously while something clicked in my mind that I didn't realize before.
"What happened then?" he asked.
"They tried to glamor me," I told him. "That didn't work."
"You are, for some reason, an immune, rare thing for a pet," he was eyeing me.
"Then they were considering killing me," I said.
"OK, that is not a protocol," he said to himself. "Then who killed them?"
I told him what I remembered: "The wolf showed up out of nowhere and ripped them apart."
"Is this all you remember?" he said, "What did the wolf look like? I need all the details."
"The wolf was gray. There was a lot of blood. Someone was jerking me around," I said. "Then I blacked out."
"I need more details than that, Gray Wolf. This is nothing special. Were there any special marks on the wolf? Anything?" he asked.
"I don't remember."
"You are hiding something," he said and pressed the button, and the pain surged through me again. I could take it, but I had to grab at the cage bars to not fall down. Still, tears were streaming down my face from the pain inflicted.
I had the realization that I knew who that wolf was. The wolf in the wood was my own wolf that came out to protect me, sensing that I was about to die.
