“Damn, I feel so tired today; I had a long day today.” Amelia said immediately she got in their apartment, she plopped herself on the couch and then removed her heels and took a deep breath.

Emma was seated on the opposite couch, with a bowl full of popcorns and a remote in her hands.

“What happened and I called you and you did not pick my call, I think we should start from there, why didn’t you pick my call and you know how important that call was?” She asked and Amelia found herself laughing.

“I am so sorry, I did not mean to laugh but wait, and did you just say the call was important, just after I told you what happened? Girl you got to stop messing around with me, you just wanted me to tell you what was going and here I am, at your disposal, I will tell everything exactly how it happened, I know you are itching to know, so I will just go ahead and tell you.” She said while still laughing and Emma chuckled.

“Itching is not the right term to use, I think curious fits best but it doesn’t matter, the call was important, it doesn’t matter what I wanted to tell you or what we wanted to talk about, so tell me how was it? I mean your first day at work and how is he? By that I think you know what I mean, I am talking about your boss that decided to take you out on lunch on your first day at work, how sweet of him.” She said with a sly smile on her face and Amelia chuckled.

“You are just funny aren’t you? Cullen was taking me out for lunch so we to catch up, you know it has been ages since we last saw each other and he thought why not grab the opportunity, this has nothing to do with is running on your mind right now, you got to come back here and think straight, despite he is my sisters best friend.

“And so, what? He is not her boyfriend or husband so it doesn’t limit you on doing anything, you can be a thing and who knows, you might turn out to be the billionaire’s wife that would be so great because I will definitely be the billionaire’s wife’s best friend, how is the sound of that?” She asked and Amelia laughed.

“I can’t deal with you right now, I will head up to my room and take a shower, and I am exhausted already.” She said amidst her laugh.

“Whatever, just know that I am waiting f you here and that the conversation is not yet over, I need to hear the whole story and you are not supposed to leave any detail behind, so I will be waiting for you here.” She said and Amelia shrugged as she walked upstairs to her room, she had so much in one day that she opted for a warm soak, she needed it to think about everything that Cullen had told her, things were getting spicy and were happening very fast for her.

When she got in her room, the first thing she did was remove her clothes and took a towel form the stand and walked into the adjacent bathroom, she filled the tub with warm water and then poured in some body wash, soap and then water and then slowly stepped in, she let her hair fall on her back and then slowly immersed herself in the filled tub, the events of the day started ringing back in her head only that this time everything that was happening felt so real, she could see Cullen smiling at her and she could see Virginia giving her a deadly evil look and with a smirk on her face, she decided to ignore her completely and focused on Cullen who was still smiling at her, then the events started running on her mind.

“Okay sure, go ahead, I won’t promise to help like I told you earlier but I promise to listen to you.” She said and Cullen took a deep breath before finally speaking out, he did not know how to frame it so he just went point blank.

“I have no idea how well I can put this to make you understand but I am just going to tell you point straight, I want you to be my fake girlfriend, I know it sounds stupid bit is it important to me.” Cullen said and she almost choked on her drink and quickly reached for the napkin.

“Wait, what are you even asking me to do?” she asked clearly surprised and shocked at the revelation, it was not the kind of news she was expecting to hear from him, it just came as surprise and shock to her and she was just trying to recover from the shock.

“Yes, I know but forgive me for how I have put it, I just did not know how well I could have put it for you to understand but it is urgent and you are the only one who can help me right now, please.”

“You do know that what you are asking me to do is hard right?”

“Of course, I understand that is why I wanted you to think about it then you can give me your feedback after you has thought about it, I am not putting you under any kind of pressure because I understand this sin jot easy and you were not prepared for it.”

“Can I ask why, I mean why me, why now, and what if my sister did not ask you to take me in as an intern, what would have been your choice and why do you need a fake girlfriend anyway?” She asked.

Amelia was still in her daydream fantasy that’s eh did not seen hear Emma calling her name, she had been in the tub for like half an hour and when Emma came to check her in her room, she did not find her so she walked into the bathroom and there she was totally immersed in the tub with only a section of her face showing, she quickly pulled her out because she thought she was drowning.

“Amelia! Amelia! What the hell is wrong with you, my God you scared me!” she shouted as Amelia struggled to compose herself, she was still confused.

“What the hell Emma? Why would you do that, I was just trying to enjoy my warm soak and you interrupted me, what is wrong with you?” She asked clearly bored.

“I was trying to save your ass, the least you can do is say thank you.”

“Save me from what, you just ruined my moment, I was trying to enjoy here, come on.”

“Oh, enjoy? You call this enjoying when I called your name hundred times but you did not respond so I thought you was drowning ad I just pulled you out, b***h, the least you can say is thank you, you have been here close to forty-five minutes what is going on with you? Are you okay right now?” She blubbered and Amelia sighed, she knew Emma was concerned about her but there was nothing to worry about she was capable of taking care of herself on her own and she did not want anyone to worry about her anymore.

“Okay, I get that you were worried about me but I wasn’t drowning, I was just having my own moment, thank you for what you have done Emma but no, I wasn’t drowning I was just having a moment, thank you though.”

“You can say that again, you scared the hell out of me girl I thought you was drowning, anyway, I acme to tell you that there is someone downstairs who wants to see you, so I suggest you hurry up and come downstairs, now.”

“Who is there to see me, I don’t usually have visitors at this time of the night, give me few minutes, I will be downstairs in a jiffy, now will you give me my privacy please, I would like to finish this.” She said and Emma chuckled.

“Huh okay, Miss Privacy, I will be downstairs, you hurry up, don’t keep him waiting.”

“Him?”

“Yes, him and if I were you would be hurrying p right now and not asking stupid questions.” She said and the walked out of the bathroom.

Amelia did not even get time to get go back in the tub, she simply reached for her towel and wiped herself dry, she walked back in room and walked into her closet, it was messy but she spotted a white baggy T-shirt with oar of shorts, she did not get time to dry her hair so she just threw it in a messy bun and put on the T-shirt and the short then took her phone and rushed downstairs but midway she saw Cullen, he was busy laughing at a certain joke Emma had cracked and the two seemed to be having a good time.

What is he doing here? How did he even know my place?

Amelia asked herself before she walked downstairs and cleared her throat, the two turned to look at her.

“Here she is, I will give you two some privacy, I will be in the kitchen.” Emma said then walked into the kitchen leaving the two alone in the living room.
