Amelia got so busy that she did not even check on time, it was around five in the evening when she heard a soft knock on her office door.

“Yes, come in.” She said without looking up from her computer, Melanie was at her door, she stared at her for a few seconds before she finally walked into her office.

“Girl, I think you are overworking, it is past time already and you are still busy on your computer, what is happening?” She asked as she plopped herself on the office couch, she was carrying her handbag clear indication that she had just signed out and was heading home.

“I just got so busy that I even forgot to check on time, what is going on, damn, you ready to head home, I think I should finish this up and join you, I feel tired already.” She said as she typed on her computer.

“Yes, I understand that sometimes you get so busy that you forget to check on time, anyway, I am here for two reasons and because you have said the first one i will tell you the second one.” She said and Amelia turned to look at her with her eyebrows creased.

“What is it, I hope nothing is wrong?”

“No, nothing is wrong except that Mr. Smith wants to see you immediately in his office before he signs out so I suggest you go right now, I will be waiting for you here, come on.” She said and Amelia stood up from her desk and head for the door.

“I hope you aren’t just messing with me.”

“No, of course not why would I mess with you? He wants to see you right now before he signs out, if I was you, I would be on my way right now and stop asking questions.” She said and Amelia had no otherwise than going to her boss’s office.

“Sir, you asked for me?” She asked as she got in Mr. Smith’s office.

“Yes Miss Watson please have a seat.” He said as he showed her the couch opposite him. “Actually I called you concerning the contract you signed, I don’t really know if you read through the whole of it but as per the company’s rule you are supposed to be residing in one of our houses just few minutes’ drive from here, and did you read through it?” He asked and Amelia shook her head.

“Honestly speaking Sir, I did not go through the whole contract.” She said and Cullen smiled.

“It is advisable to go through the whole contract before you sign it, what if it included something that was going to mess up your work? It is always right for you to go through the whole contract before signing it, anyway, I called you here because I think it is advisable for you to move out of your lace to the company’s house, it is free and everything is taken care of by the company so there won’t be any problem.” He said.

“Is it just a must I stay in that house, because i have a roommate and I don’t think it will be col f I move out just like that, I hope there is another option?” She asked.

“Oh, there is no problem with that, you can choose to live with anybody, it is a two bedroom apartment and I hope that will be enough for you.”

“Yes, thank you sir, I appreciate, so how long till we move in?” She asked.

“As soon as you are ready it is a furnished house so there won’t be a problem moving in and it is just close to where we are, just like I told you.”

“Okay, thank you Sir, I will talk to my roommate and we will plan on when to move in and all that.”

“Okay, no problem that is all for today, you may leave now.” He said as he got back on his computer and Amelia stood up to leave but he then stopped her midway; it was like he had just remembered something, “Oh and Amelia , please think about what I told you earlier, it is crucial to me, I hope to get a positive feedback from you.”

“Okay sir, I will think about it and I will tell you my feedback as soon as I can.” She said

“You can just call me Cullen, no need for Sir.” He said jokingly and Amelia chuckled while smiling.

“I prefer Sir, sounds better professionally.” She said and got out of his office only to bump into Virginia who was standing at the door.

“b***h, careful you almost stepped on my feet.” She said

“And what were you doing here, listening to our conversion?” She asked Virginia who just sneered.

“I was coming in, and not listening to your conversation, and by the way he is just going to use you and dump you, he is mine and mine alone, so don’t raise your hopes high for nothing.” She said as she chewed on her gum loudly and Amelia smiled.

“You know there is always this funny thing about you that I find interesting, you have a lot of energy that you always waste on things that doesn’t concern you, I will still advise even though I hate your guts, what if you decide to combine all that energy and do something meaningful in your life, I mean something that does not involve you fighting for men who doesn’t feel the same way about you, fighting girls that you think your childhood crush might fall in love with, that is not how it works sweetheart, you just got to let that sink in your head, he won’t love you because you keep fighting innocent girls who are not even close to him as you think, do something with your life, I don’t think your mom gave birth to a pretty girl just for her to keep fighting for men that doesn’t feel the same way about her, do something with yourself honey, the world is not going to wait for you.” She said and Virginia sneered.

“I did not ask for your opinion honey I know how to take care of myself and my life should not be part of your business, just stick to your lanes.”

“And so you, I don’t think my life should your business, I choose who to f**k with and you are not going to interfere anything, and I was just advising you like a good sister or friend because I can see you have none, or if you do then they don’t care about you, have a nice evening Virginia.” She said and walked toward her office leaving her still thinking of what she said.

“b***h” Virginia sneered under her breath.

“That makes the two of us.”

“Damn what is wrong with this girl if I may ask?” Amelia asked Melanie as soon as she got back in her office; Melamine was still seated on the couch except that she was now playing games on her phone.

“Oh, you are talking about Virginia, she was here just a few minutes after you left, she said she wanted to talk to you about something and from the look on her face, I sensed that something was amiss so, I told her you were in Mr. Smith’s office and she went there immediately, did she hit you or something?”

“No, she wouldn’t even dare do that, she just gets on my nerves every damn time, this is the second time she is threatening me to stay always from Cullen and I am like what the hell is wrong with her, I just got here and this is my first day and she is already threatening me to stay away from Cullen, it is not like I am intimidated by her, but I am starting to think that maybe she is nuts and crazy, something is not right with her head.”

“She gets on everyone’s nerves only that she is too much on you, and by the way, that reminds me, you did not tell me about your lunch date with him, how was it because I saw Virginia walking in after lunch and the look on her face said it all, I was just downstairs talking to a client when she walked in fuming with anger, i assume she followed you guys?”

“Yes, how did she even know the hotel we were going to be in, I find that creepy as hell and no, it was not a lunch date but just a catch up time, I have known Cullen through my sister and it had been long since I last saw him, so we were just catching up on the last times when she showed up, anyway, let us get going before she comes in here, I am not in the mood for dramas today, I just want to get home, take a warm soak and rest, it has been a long day for me.” She said as she packed her things and stood up, they both walked out of the office, Amelia locked her office and they went for the elevators, she just could not wait to get home so she could tell Emma how her day went.
