Today was the day we would put my powers to the ultimate test. After we had our meeting about how we would attack Erik, I used my powers for the first time more so to test them. Sure enough, I saw Erik gearing for battle. I heard him tell his troops now that I was dead, that my mate would try to avenge me.
The saddest thing was seeing Karoline. She was absolutely broken down. It was easy to see that she had been tortured, which we assumed anyway. I knew that she would never tell Erik anything about us unless she had no other choice. One thing about Karoline was that she was extremely devoted, but she would do anything to keep from dying, not that I blamed her. Death has knocked on my door far more times than I would like, but each time it has made me stronger.
