We marched even closer toward Erik’s mansion. We were so close that I could see his men standing outside the front doors in heavy armor. They were guarding the door, trying to protect the one hiding inside like a coward. It may be true that Erik expected some kind of an attack, thinking that he killed me, but oh boy was he in for a surprise. Dorian grabbed my hand a little tighter as we pushed closer. The closer we got the clammier his hand became. It wasn’t just about protecting me anymore but protecting our child. I was going to be a parent, though I would to some degree argue that I was too young. It scared me being a parent because I didn’t want my child to grow up in the life that I had to. I know that he or she wouldn’t despite what was the outcome of today. Dorian would never allow
