‘We have to hurry. I think my parents are in trouble.’ James said through the mind link.
I sensed his tension as we rushed back to the center of the pack lands. I could smell blood in the air as we neared the packhouse. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to reach my brother and father with no answer. ‘They are probably fighting and can’t stop to talk,’ Zia tried reassuring me.
We slowed our pace as the tree opened up. There were dead rogues everywhere on the ground, and a few of our warriors had fallen. I saw my father and brother standing in front of the packhouse in naked human form. Dozens of warriors surrounded them, and it seemed the fight was over. James and I rushed towards them. James shifted back into human form
