CHAPTER 26

As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw Cooper right in front of me, looking a bit pale. As I glanced around, I realized that it worked. I was in my old room—or at least, I thought it was my old room. It was stripped bare, with only a single bed and no other furniture. I turned to the wardrobe and noticed a few pieces of clothing inside, but I had no idea who they belonged to. “Someone is living in here,” I said. “How the hell do you do that? I feel like I’m going to be sick,” Cooper replied. “I’m used to it. Come on,” I said, slowly opening the door, remembering that it used to creak. I didn’t know who was living in that room now, but I felt sorry for them. We walked down the hallway, and I didn’t see anyone, but there were a lot of strange scents around the house that I didn’t recognize.
