“You look incredible,” Lilith, who helped me get dressed for tonight, said with a smile. Today was the day Phoenix Co. was celebrating its 75th anniversary, and I was excited. Today’s event was the biggest I had ever planned, with someone as powerful as Phoenix Co. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that this event was a breakthrough for my career. Even though I was already well-known and influential in the business, there were still many things I wanted to achieve. “I won’t stand out too much, will I?” I asked worriedly. Even though this was a special day for me, I didn’t want to stand out. What I wanted to achieve was done; all I needed to do was attend the celebration and after-party in silence. After my divorce from Mason, this was the first event I would attend, and all the focus would already be on me. The last thing I wanted was to attract more attention. “No standing out would be hard to achieve with that body and face,” Lilith said. “And don’t fear the attention. It’s not like you were the one who cheated, and it’s highly likely everyone has already forgotten about it. After all, it’s been two years since your divorce. People forget such things rather quickly.” “I know it’s bad that I’m fearing gossip now, but for some reason, I’m dreading it. You know I don’t like making my life public, and this whole fiasco with Mason blew up like wildfire. On top of that, I hid myself from the public for two years, so my nerves are on fire. It’s like I’m back to when I was attending the first event I prepared,” I sighed. More than anything, I was dreading meeting them at the event. They have a good relationship with the President of Phoenix Co., and they would surely attend. I didn’t want to face them today when I was already on edge. Their presence would only make me more miserable. “It’s okay to feel nervous after re-entering the social world after a break. Hell, I would be terrified if I were you, but you know how life works. You have to get back into the social world sooner or later. The sooner the better, considering your line of business. So, instead of hiding, show them that you are so strong that someone like Mason cannot crumble your will,” she tried to cheer me up, and to some extent, my worries eased. “Thank you for always being there for me, Lilith. You are the most precious gift God has given me. I mean it from the bottom of my heart,” I conveyed my feelings to her sincerely. Lilith smiled and said, with tears in her eyes, “Same goes for me. You are the most precious one to me, and I love you so much.” I smiled and hugged her, thanking her once again. “Now, now, get going if you don’t want to be late,” she patted my back and nudged me toward the door. “I have plenty of time, but yeah, I should get there first to check the preparation one last time,” I left her house and drove to the venue. By the time I arrived, I didn’t have time to double-check everything as planned, as half the guests were already there. Thankfully, Sam was there to double-check everything for me. “Thank God, you’re here, Miss Rain,” Sam sighed in relief as we met. He was waiting for me outside the banquet hall to escort me inside as my date. “Did something happen?” I asked worriedly. “Nothing major, just some seating arrangements have been changed at the last moment. Some additional members are attending, so we had to rearrange a few seats,” he informed me. “Everything is settled, right? We can’t afford to make any mistakes,” I asked. “Don’t worry, I handled everything well,” Sam puffed out his chest, pride adorning his handsome face. “Then there’s nothing to worry about. Let’s go,” I said. We linked arms and entered the venue. As I felt eyes on me, I stiffened. “Relax, boss,” Sam reminded me. “You have me with you; I’ll break some bones if anyone bothers you.” I chuckled at his comment and somewhat relaxed, though I stiffened again when Sam escorted me to my seat. Just my luck, my seat was between both of the brothers I was desperately trying to forget about. “Eclipse,” Warren called out my name in his deep, husky voice. A shiver traveled down my spine, making me clench my fist in nervousness. “Long time no see,” I forced a smile, as if I hadn’t seen them and their c***s just a few weeks ago. “Yeah. How have you been?” Erebus asked this time, pulling out my seat for me. I frowned as I lowered myself onto the seat. The seating arrangement was weird. My and Sam’s seats should be side by side, and Warren’s and Erebus’ seats should be side by side, but somehow my seat was between them, and Sam was sitting beside Warren. As if they understood my concern, Warren said, “Erebus had something to discuss with Seth (the youngest son of the president of Phoenix Co.), so he switched his seat with Sam. I hope you don’t mind.” “Of course not,” was the only thing I could say. After our short conversation, we fell silent, though I soon became conscious of their presence. They smell nice, I mused. One thing I always noticed about them whenever we met when I was married to Mason was their scent. They always smelled like gods, and I’m not kidding, though this time their smell drove me crazy, unlike before when I only liked the scent. God, I wish this gets over soon, I prayed in vain. The event felt like hell, with me fidgeting in my chair and feeling self-conscious. When the after-party started, I took my flustered self to the balcony to escape them, and after spending an hour there, I decided to leave. As I had already greeted my business partners and other guests, there was no need for me to stay any longer. After informing Sam, I exited the venue and entered the elevator to get to the hotel room booked for me tonight. No f*****g way! I gasped when I saw them in the elevator. They were already looking at me, and I had no excuse not to get in, so I sighed and entered. The few seconds’ ride felt like forever. There was dead silence in the elevator, and that wasn’t helping. I sighed in relief when some people entered, thanking the heavens for the favor. My happiness was short-lived when more people entered. To accommodate them, we all had to move, and I moved back to give some space. As I backed away, I bumped into Erebus, who held me by my waist to help me balance. My heart thumped in my chest as I felt his hand on my waist. What baffled me more was that he didn’t immediately remove his hand but took his time. I sighed in relief but stiffened once more when I felt something against my ass. As we were standing flush against each other, my ass was resting against his crotch. And he was hard, not hardening, but already rock-hard and pulsing with excitement. My cheeks flushed as I was once again reminded of that night, and unconsciously, I pressed my ass against his c**k more. Erebus let out a low grunt and mashed us together by pulling me closer by my waist. His hands on my waist, his heavy breath, and his hard c**k were too much for me to handle. I was hyperventilating against him, and the moment the elevator opened to my floor, I bolted like an animal trapped in a cage. ~°~
