I cupped my flushed cheeks as I bolted out of the elevator, screaming inside my head, wondering if what I felt was real or a figment of my imagination.
He was thick and so big, I squealed. In my flustered state, I bumped into someone, my chest colliding with the person's head.
“If this ain't heaven, I don't know what else is,” a feminine voice rang in my ears, followed by a raspy chuckle from a man. Shocked at the woman's audacity to grope my breasts and squeeze them, I stumbled back, coming face to face with a grinning Jane and her fiancé, Alex.
“Jane, what are you doing here?” I asked, relaxing after realizing it was her groping me.
“We’re on our last date as boyfriend and girlfriend. Soon we’ll be married, so we wanted to celebrate our last time together,” she smiled, gazing dreamily into Alex's eyes, who returned her intense gaze. I smiled at the adorable couple, thinking back to the day they first met.
It was the day my divorce was finalized. Jane is from Australia, and during the time I discovered Mason’s affair, she was back home looking after her sick father. As she was already going through a lot, I never mentioned my divorce. She somehow found out a day before it was finalized and immediately rushed back to support me. Thankfully, her father had recovered by then.
She was waiting for me outside the court, and the moment she saw us coming out, she charged at Mason. Alex was there to pick up Mason for a project they were working on together, and when he saw Jane charging at Mason with murderous intent, he stepped in and punched Mason with all his might. That shocked Jane, and she stopped dead in her tracks. To protect her from becoming a criminal, he punched his best friend. Why? Because the moment he saw her feisty self, he was smitten.
That left an impression on both of them, and they sought each other out through me. I set them up, and the rest is history. I wanted both of my special people to get together and be happy. As for why and how Alex became a special friend to me…
I wasn't in my right mind when I was handed the divorce papers, and Alex offered to find a good lawyer for me, which he did.
He had a falling out with Mason because of me, even though Mason was his childhood best friend, saying he couldn't be friends with cheaters. If it weren't for the project they were working on together, Alex wouldn't have been there to pick him up after our divorce.
One thing about Alex is that he’s choosy about his surroundings. He only befriends high-caliber men, and what Mason did instantly made him a lowly bastard, undeserving of Alex’s friendship. That’s exactly how Alex phrased it in front of Mason.
It was low of me, but I felt good seeing the hurt expression on Mason's face.
End of the story.
“That’s so cute. I won’t hold you back from enjoying your date,” I said, snapping out of my thoughts and smiling at them.
“Hehe, I’ll call you after my date,” Jane giggled, mouthing, “to give you all the details.” Alex, who saw through her, just shook his head helplessly.
“Okay.” After bidding them goodbye, I hid in my hotel room until I was sure it was safe to return to my apartment. I was lucky not to run into my tormentors again, and I’m glad I hid in my room long enough for the other guests to leave.

“Good morning, Eclipse,” Sam greeted me on my way to the office. I smiled and greeted him. “Do I have anything on my schedule today?”
“No, you’re free until Ms. Jane’s wedding ceremony,” he answered, double-checking my schedule.
“How are her wedding preparations coming along?” I asked. When Jane announced her wedding, I offered to prepare her wedding as my gift to her. Giving her the dream wedding was the least I could do as her friend.
“Everything is going smoothly; you don’t have to worry about anything,” Sam assured me.
“I have faith in my team, so I’m not worried. I know they’ll prepare a perfect wedding for Jane,” I smiled.
“Oh, right! Jane gave me her wedding invitation to pass along to you. I keep forgetting. Here.”
I handed him the card, and a smirk crept onto his face.
“Will Lilith be there?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied. “Why do you ask?”
“I’ve been calling her, but she isn’t answering. If she’ll be at the wedding, I’ll have a chance to talk to her,” he chuckled.
“She’s just shy, and I can bet millions she feels guilty towards you, so she thinks it’s better not to contact you. I suggest you confront her face-to-face and resolve this,” I said.
“Thank you for the advice, Boss. I’ll keep that in mind,” he smiled.
“I came today to inform you that you’ll come with me to Jane’s pre-wedding party. You haven’t taken time off work in a while, so it’ll be the perfect opportunity to relax. Plus, your Lilith will be there too,” I said.
“You don’t have to tell me twice; I’ll go with you,” Sam grinned, hearing that Lilith would be there.
“It’s going to be a three-day trip, so pack accordingly. There will be a pool party on the last day; otherwise, it’ll just be us spending time together,” I informed him. Sam nodded, and a day later, we headed to a private beach on a private island owned by Alex’s grandfather.
Besides Jane’s close friends, some of Alex’s friends and business partners were present as well. I expected to run into Mason, but thankfully, I didn’t spot him or anyone else I didn’t want to cross paths with, so I relaxed and enjoyed my three days surrounded by my close friends.
While I was bonding with my friends, Sam was busy pursuing Lilith. He confronted her, and a day later, they started dating, having wasted enough time apart. It was the happiest day of my life. I was happy that all my best friends were getting their happy endings.
It wasn’t until the wedding that I was thrown into a situation I didn’t want to be in.
