"Hey," I greeted him with a smile. Surprisingly, Leander gave me a friendly hug and asked about my well-being. Our topic quickly shifted to what had happened to him and where he had been all those years. He told me that Aratrika’s dad had found out about their feelings for each other, and that's why Leander’s mom and Aratrika’s dad had separated. After the divorce, they didn't want anything to do with Aratrika’s family, so they returned to Paris, where Leander’s mother's family was. After high school, he graduated with a law degree and started his business.
Leander was very vague about what really took place, and seeing his effort to gloss over certain parts, I didn't press him to satisfy my curiosity, though I had a feeling that something deeper had occurred.
