Derek’s pov
It has been hard being a single dad, I still had it much easier than some. My parents suggested I moved back in with them until I found my feet again. They had been amazing with James, and he was a happy kid, so that helped.
I had started to build my bond with him. Even the most cold-hearted person would soften with a smile from that cute little boy. I had grown to love him quickly, and I liked being a father more than I thought I would.
He was also a big pull with the ladies, one smile, and he had them melting. I had been given more phone numbers in the last 3 months than I had had in my whole life. I didn’t call any of them, though. I wasn’t in the right place to have a relationship.
For now, I wanted to work on being a better person and a better father to Jam
