Act II - Cold Eyes

Noh Jin Suk and Lee Yoo Chan went back to their own rooms while Jang Hee Chul roamed around the dome, hoping to find something. Hee Chul was searching for something particular, he was sweating and he was gritting his teeth. He walks with two of his two legs stuck together. “Oh, my god! Just where the heck is it?”, he said in frustration and continued to look around the dome.

A girl in her twenties notice him struggling with something, he was red and his veins are popping out from his head. The girl went to get him and thought that maybe she can help, “Ahjussi, are you okay?”, she asked. Hee Chul turned around with a fearsome face. The girl was scared so she step back a little, “You don’t look so good, are you sick?”, she continued asking. Jang Hee Chul couldn’t respond and all he could do was putting his hands below his stomach.

The girl immediately realizes what was wrong with him. She knows that his bladder is about to explode. “Are you perhaps- uhmm?”, she didn't finisher her sentence but Hee Chul knows what she’s trying to say sp he nodded his head in response. “I see wait right there and don’t move”, she said. “Just stay put, I will be back”, she added and ran off to find a place where he can relieve himself.

Hee Chul trying to hold on for his life, trying not to embarrass himself infront of other people. He rather dies than let someone see his embarrassing moment. He trusted the girl and stood still. He tries to empty his mind to avoid getting senses and signals that might trigger him. The sound and the splashing of water in the center are making him lose focus.

He became more sweaty and he was frustrated, he can’t hold much more longer. He had a minute and his bladder will burst if he doesn’t do anything. He tries to move but the signal is getting stronger, he doesn’t know what to do. He avoided looking at the fountain. He can’t take it anymore, he gives up.

He went to the center, opened his pants, grabbed his willy, and peed on the water fountain. Everyone was surprised by his action, they couldn’t believe that someone took a whiz at the fountain. Everyone was disgusted and some laugh at him. On the other hand, Hee Chul couldn’t care less, he was enjoying such a pleasuring moment. The pleasure of releasing. He was smiling ear to ear as he close his eyes, he feels like he was in heaven.

The commotion had caught the attention of the others including the girl. The girl ran to him, “Ahjussi! What are you doing!?”, the girl said, she can’t believe what he did. Hee Chul was still in his own paradise as if he was leaking unending waterfalls.

Jin Suk and Yoo Chan went out of their rooms wondering what was happening. Yoo Chan tries to know what was going on and saw Hee Chul doing his thing, “Isn’t that?”, he said. Noh Jin Suk couldn’t believe what he was doing, “What is that fool doing?”, he murmured. “Is he seriously-”, Yoo Chan didn’t finish his sentence but they certainly know what he was doing.

The girl was embarrassed unable to do anything to get him out of the situation. The stream of water has finally dried out, leaving the oasis refreshed and new. Hee Chul flicked his eyes open and realize that he is looking at the fountain. He feels a cool sensation underneath, the showing weeny was enjoying the refreshing air outside.

Hee Chul imagined the worst-case scenario that could happen, he gulps in frustration. He looks around and the wishers were looking at him with negative faces, “Ahjussi!”, the girl called him out and he turned around, her face was the same as the others. He looks down slowly and a new fear was unlocked. This embarrassing moment will forever mark his life and into his grave.

“Why did he do that there?”, the serious guy beside Jin Suk's room spoke out of nowhere. “Didn’t he know that there’s a restroom in each room?”, he said. Jin Suk and Yoo Chan were surprised about the information, “Eh? There is?”, Yoo Chan asked. “Yeah, don’t you guys know?”, he asked. “No, we didn’t know”, Yoo Chan replied to him. “Could you care to tell us where in the room can it be located?”, Jin Suk requested. The guy nods his head, “Sure, I can do that”, he answered.

They follow him into his room and entered, “Wait”, Jin Suk stopped. “Go get Hee Chul so he won’t embarrass himself again”, he asked Yoo Chan. Yoo Chan nods his head and went to get Hee Chul. “You can wait right?”, Jin Suk asked. “Of course, I don’t have anything to do anyway”, he said.

“So, you guys know him?”, he asked. Jin Suk just responded with a nod. Yoo Chan brought the stupified Hee Chul with the help of the girl. “We brought him”, Yoo Chan said. “Who’s she?”, Hee Chul asked the name of the girl. “Oh, she’s-”, before Yoo Chan can introduce her, she cut him off so she can introduce herself instead. “Anyeong! I am Oh Ree Na, nice to meet you”, she bowed her head. She was too friendly. Noh Jin Suk moved his head and carried the soulless Hee Chul on his shoulder. “Where should I put him?”, Jin Suk asked him. “Oh, put him there, that’s where the restroom is located”, he said.

Jin Suk puts Hee Chul on where the guy wanted to place him. The guy went into the corner of the room and points something on the wall, “Look”, he said. The three of them went closer to identify what it was. They saw a round button and had the symbol of a toilet, “You just need to press this”, he pushed the button and a hidden compartment then revealed a restroom that can fit one person. “What!? How come I didn’t know this?”, Ree Na eyes widen, “Yeah, me too”, Yoo Chan added. The guy smirked, “You should be more observant from now on”, he said then walks into the center of the room, “Being observant is always an advantage especially in a game like this”, he said. Jin Suk didn’t say anything but he thinks that he is right.

“Also”, he went to the left side of the room and pushed another button and another compartment opened, “There’s food store here, water and other supplies you might need”, the two immediately went to look at the inside and was happy after finding it was real, “I thought we aren’t allowed to eat until the game ends,”, Yoo Chan said. “Actually, the first time I checked, there was nothing”, the two looked at him awing to know and Noh Jin Suk was just leaning on the wall, wrapping his arms together as he listens to him. “This only appeared after round 1 ended”, he said and close the compartment, “I think the food will be given if ever you survived”, he said and look away. “Apparently, it can only be opened by the wisher who owned the room”, he added another information.

He went outside and stood still, “But once a wisher is dead, you can open their compartments freely”, he turned around to them, wearing his serious look again. “And steal the deceased supplies for yourself”, he said with no hesitation in his voice. Noh Jin Suk stood still and the two of them meet eyes, the atmosphere became colder and cramped. “Why are you telling us this?”, Jin Suk asked as he inserted his hands into his pocket, “Such important information, you can keep this to yourself and use this to your own advantage against us”, Jin Suk said as he slowly walks toward the guy.

The two were emitting an aura of a tiger and a lion fighting silently inside. “You know that everyone here is your enemy right?”, Noh Jin Suk spoke the truth and the guy just look at him with blind emotions. The guy smirked and chuckled, “I just wanted to have some people around me, like helping each other like that”, he gave a reason. “I wanted you guys to trust me so that’s why I gave such information”, he said and smiled.

Noh Jin Suk wasn’t convinced, “Why us?”, he asked him. He looked at Jin Suk and blinked his eyes three times, “Just Because”, he answered. “What do you mean by that?”, Jin Suk asked. The guy went back to his room and look at Noh Jin Suk from the inside, “Because our rooms are close to each other and the wisher left next to me is already dead”, he said and started walking around, “I noticed that you and the kid, and yeah that guy seems closed as if you know each other”, he explained clearly and the three listened carefully. “That’s why I decided to make friends with you guys, hoping we can help each other out in the next rounds”, he keep walking in a circle and he wasn’t done yet, “Remember, that some rounds are team games right?”, he stopped as he plays with his fingers, “We get to pick our own teammates, also the wisher who didn’t have any teammates was punished by death”, he explained so well, that Jin Suk was almost convinced to his reasons.

Unfortunately, Jin Suk had a feeling that this guy is hiding his true self, he can’t trust him easily, “Seem pretty reasonable, I can take that”, but he needed him. “You have to ask them too”, he points out the three by moving his head. “I’m okay with him”, Ree Na didn’t take any hesitation, “Me too, it feels more secure to have some people”, Yoo Chan agreed too. “Great!”, Yoon Ho said, “But, what about that guy?”, he looks at Hee Chul and looks to Jin Suk for an answer, “I can assure that he will agree too”, Noh Jin Suk then walks into his room.

“Wait, wait!”, he stopped Jin SUK, “I forgot to introduce myself”, he stood still and properly introduced himself, “I am Lee Yoon Ho, a pleasure to have you guys on my side”, he said and bow his head slightly. Noh Jin Suk moves his head, “Jin Suk, Noh Jin Suk”, he said, “And that guy over there is Jang Hee Chul”, he added then entered his room.

“Can I call you, Hyung?”, Yoo Chan asked. Lee Yoon Ho smiled and nodded his head, “Then, nice to meet you, Hyung. I am Lee Yoo Chan, it is good to have you on our side”, he shows respect by bowing his head. Yoon Ho pats and rubs his head then smiled brightly. For some reason, the two get along so well.

The two heard a growling, “I’m sorry, it seems seeing that food made me hungry”, she smiled. “I’ll be going back to my room to eat”, she stood up and went out of his room, “Unnie!”, Yoo Chan called, “Yes?”, she replied. “Go get your food and let’s eat together”, Yoo Chan suggested. He looks at Lee Yoon Ho, “What do you think, Hyung?”, he asked him. Yoon Ho smiled, “That will be great”, he said and look at Ree Na, “Come and eat with us”, he said to her. Ree Na smiled and nodded then went to her room to get her food.

“I’ll be getting mine too, wait for me”, he said. Yoon Ho gives a go. “I’ll tell, Ahjussi too”, he added then leaves. Yoon Ho looks at Hee Chul still in a daze, he went near him and looks at his face. He stood up and open his food compartment to get a bottle of water. He opened it and splashed it on his face. “You back?”, Yoon Ho trying to wake him up.

Hee Chul came back to his senses and was still in a daze, not knowing what was happening around him. He moves his head trying to look around, “Whe-where am I? And who are you jerk?”, Hee Chul said not knowing who’s infront of him because his vision was still blurry. “I am your boss’s friend, Lee Yoon Ho, nice to meet you”, Yoon Ho hands out his hand to him but Hee Chul can’t see it.

Hee Chul's vision was slowly recovering, “Boss’s friend? Another one?”, he asked confused. Yoon Ho stood up and offered him a hand, “Yes, get up and let’s eat together with your boss”, he said. “I don’t trust you”, he said straightforwardly. “You’re awake?”, the two saw Jin Suk outside along with Yoo Chan. “He is one of us”, Noh Jin Suk as they both entered the room. “Ahh, I see”, Hee Chul hands out to Yoon Ho, “Nice to have you, friend”, he said smiling. Yoon Ho accepted his hand and smiled too, “Nice to know you”.
