I drive aimlessly, taking random turns as the houses around me begin to thin out. Eventually, the residential streets give way to the commercial buildings of the centre of town. I roll past the main square and duck down a side street, passing the tailor shop where my dad took me to get fitted for my prom suit, the man not a bit phased when I chose a purples crushed velvet. Further down, I pass the florist that had painstakingly created the flower arrangements for Darcie and Elliott’s wedding. Every corner holds a ghost of a memory from my former life.
